The theme was revealed at the beginning - 'Ritual'. Unlike last month, this time I worked on someone else's original idea. I wasn't the game director or lead programmer. Working with those more skilled than I taught me much.
The most interesting and dynamic system on which I worked was ultimately cut from the game, due mostly to time constraints and technology bugs. This was a great opportunity to learn an important lesson. Let go of the unattainable and adapt to fit the situation.
Both times I've been to such an event, most of the time I was concerned that we wouldn't have something worth showing, and it wasn't until the last moments that it came together. Both times I felt overwhelmed more often than not, but I just kept working and made it through to feel better on the other side.
